What is creativity?
We all use the term. Some of us wish we had more of it. Some are lucky enough to get paid for doing it, some for doing it well.
We admire people that are perceived as “creative”. But what is creativity? Merriam Webster’s simple definition is “the ability to make new things or think of new ideas”. New things, new ideas? Is it really that simple? It sounds simple, but it is often not simple at all.
While we all have creativity within us, it requires stepping out and pushing through comfort zones. Expressing your inner thoughts, dynamic forward-thinking, without the fear of failure. To quote Joseph Chilton Pearce “to live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong”.
I submit that this is one of the most creative ages in mankind’s history. Never before have we had so many platforms to create, we have been given the opportunity to defeat the expected.
“I might not know what I want from this life, but I know I want more than the starting line.”
